![]() Back then they didn't put studs at all of the intersecting wall junctions, so to reline your walls new studs will have to go in at these points. If you remove the lath and plaster you will come across several problems. the wonderful Yanks have a range of magazines dedicated to homes of this period and style. Don’t forget too that they aren’t called Californian for nothing, so explore the American magazines too…. It was a wonderful steep learning curve, that added a lot of grey hairs, but I was extremely happy with the final outcome.īuy HEAPS of books on Californian Bungalows and magazines for Period Home Renovators – devour them over and over – they are worth their weight in gold I reckon. I actually bought my Calabunga when I was only 22 but was clear about the things I wanted to do to it……yeah, right! Man how wrong I was! But eventually I got blessed clarity! Just one more thing – Do yourselves a HUGE favour and take your time working through what it is you want to achieve and expect as an outcome from the projects - get clear on what's important to you and decide whether you wish to restore or renovate and how much you care about how original the place will look (mainly from the street, but inside too) after the work is done. Also, if you'd like to see some pics of the Callabunga I did, they can be seen somewhere on my oh-so-clunky-website I'd be happy to receive a call from you to chat about it further, (email me to get the number if you’re within Cooee of me (we live in Kilmore but travel extensively throughout Melbourne) I could call out and have a look - not commercially - but as someone happy to share some experiences and offer some ideas. I agree with all the comments offered and have (depending on the house, budget and circumstances) advised clients to do both or a combination. Hi and a HUGE welcome to the forum - you will find a wealth of info here. We are first time renovators and are willing to learn - fast. Should we remove the plaster and/or lathe then put up new plaster board? (we hear this is a messy job) OR Should we just Plasterboard straight over the top?Īlso, if we do the later, what affect would this have on the skirtings and door frames? We want to make this house look "new again". We are planning on sanding & polishing the existing timber floors (baltic we believe, currently hidden under carpet). The cornaces are plaster and are cracked. The skirting boards seem fine but need sanding/painting. The house has been re-stumped and a new roof put on (approx 5 years ago) but the internal damage remains - The walls & ceilings are cracked and/or warped slightly. ![]() These walls & ceilings have suffered over time due to movement and a leaking roof. We have three very large rooms in the front of our house, all have the old mottled plaster over lathe up to a high picture rail (11ft ceilings). I hope you can give me some much needed advice. It does not store any personal data.Hi All. Simultaneous assessment of the functional roles of multiple taxa is possible using food-web reconstructions, but our knowledge of the feeding habits of many taxa is insufficient and often based on limited evidence. Soil ecologists often operate with functional groups to infer the effects of individual taxa on ecosystem functions and services. Soil organisms drive major ecosystem functions by mineralising carbon and releasing nutrients during decomposition processes, which supports plant growth, aboveground biodiversity and, ultimately, human nutrition. This distinction between anecic Lumbricus and Aporrectodea earthworms is expected to have different consequences for soil trophic network and soil functioning such as carbon and nutrient cyclings, water regulation and soil structure maintenance. Consequently, LAS seem to benefit from easily assimilated substrates, grow faster and reach maturity in a shorter time span than AAS species. This suggests that AAS burrow into the soil to search for soil organic matter incorporated in the soil whereas the LAS essentially focus on burying the surface litter into their burrow. Furthermore, the AAS have a denser and more complex burrow network than LAS. In contrast, Aporrectodea anecic species (here after "AAS") consume mainly aged plant-derived materials already incorporated into the soil and only a small proportion of surface-available plant-derived materials. In this review we highlight that within anecic earthworms, Lumbricus anecic species (here after "LAS") mainly consume fresh plant-derived materials on the soil surface modifying the quantity and spatial organisation of said materials. However, since these ecological categories were first defined, many studies on the ecological traits of widespread anecic species: Lumbricus centralis (Bouché, 1972), Lumbricus terrestris (Linnaeus, 1758), Aporrectodea longa longa (Ude, 1885) and Aporrectodea giardi (Ribaucourt, 1901) have revealed two distinct feeding behaviours, as well as differences in their growth rates and burrowing behaviour. The recognition of pre- and post-depositional trace fossil suites ensures ichnological and ethological fidelity of faunal data on plant–animal interactions.Įarthworm species in temperate climates have usually been classified into three main ecological categories according to their morpho-anatomical, physiological and ecological traits: epigeic, endogeic and anecic. Less common post-depositional trace fossil assemblages of depauperate diversity indicate that stressed habitats prevailed at the depositional sites and a limited time window for preservation of plant–animal interactions. Low diversity and persistent rarity of post-depositional traces (4%) as compared to more common pre-depositional traces (7%) in the sample population are noted. Accordingly, five taphonomic pathways are proposed based on varied combinations of pre- and post-depositional traces, emplaced on leaf fossils. Preserved traces in the leaf fossils depict arrays of pre- and post-depositional events (viz., biotic interactions on green foliage, leaf detachment from the trees, post-mortem transport and burial) along taphonomic pathways. Both feeding (herbivory/detritivory) and locomotary animal traces are interpreted in the host media. Animal traces that extend beyond the margins of the leaf compressions or are emplaced on the leaf impressions are evidently post-depositional, preserved ex situ. The leaf fossils indicate both above-ground (pre-depositional) and on-ground (post-depositional) animal activities. Plant–animal interactions investigated largely in Glossopteris leaf fossils (1214 specimens) from the lower Permian strata of peninsular India reveal evidence of taphonomic modifications of the ichnofabric. ![]() ![]() ![]() Note that this doesn’t apply to purely decorative elements and inactive states. However, by default Apple's players refuse to open HEVC MP4s if these contain the common default 'tag' called 'hev1'. Apple has introduced support for HEVC in macOS 10.13, iOS 11 & tvOS 11. So the resulting MP4 will only play on video players that support H265/HEVC. If you are converting an MKV that has a H265/HEVC video track, the same thing happens, this video-track is embedded unmodified into the resulting MP4 file. Therefore just embedding the video-track unmodified into the MP4 works great in most cases and is very fast and reliable. Nearly all MKV files contain H264 video-tracks, which is excatly the video-codec expected in MP4 files. Only the audio-track is often converted for increased compatibility. The video is taken as-is and embedded into the resulting MP4 file without being altered. The important thing to know here is that MKV2MP4 does not alter the video-track of a MKV in any way.

Bleach was first conceived from Kubo's desire to draw a shinigami in a kimono, which formed the basis for the design of the Soul Reapers. He attributes his interest in drawing the supernatural and monsters to Shigeru Mizuki's Ge Ge Ge no Kitaro and Bleach's focus on unique weaponry and battle scenes to Masami Kurumada's Saint Seiya, both manga Kubo enjoyed as a boy. Kubo has cited influences for elements of Bleach ranging from other manga series to music, foreign language, architecture, and film. When asked about potentially-romantic relationships between certain characters, Kubo states that he "doesn't want to turn the series into a love story", since he thinks there are more exciting aspects of their personalities to draw out. Kubo considers every character to be unique and wants each of them to have the opportunity for character development in the course of the series. When brainstorming character designs, he will go out and draw the faces of real people he sees, a hobby of his dating back to childhood. Kubo has said that he likes creating characters with outward appearances that do not match their true nature, an element that can be found in many Bleach characters, as he is "attracted to people with that seeming contradiction", and finds an "urge to draw people like that when works." When creating characters for the manga, Kubo first designs character appearances and only then decides what their personalities will be, in reflection of what he drew. When writing plotlines or having difficulties generating new material, Tite Kubo begins by thinking of new characters, often en masse, and rereading previous volumes of Bleach. The overall response to this technique is mixed, with some reviewers believing the resulting characters are still relatively stereotypical and often get little individual focus, while others have remarked that even secondary characters feel like protagonists of their very own stories.īleach's creative process is focused around character design. ![]() The size of the cast has been explained by author Kubo as the result of his writing process, in which he first creates new figures, then writes their personalities and character arcs, and finally assembles these interactions into a new plot. Many individual characters and the series' character design work have been praised, though Bleach 's constantly-expanding character roster has been a point of criticism in the press. As Ichigo guides the recently deceased to the afterlife while contending with Hollows, he clashes and forms alliances with the other supernaturally powered residents of the city, including his friends. After seeing Rukia grievously wounded by a Hollow in his presence, Ichigo receives the power of exorcism and psychopompy to carry out her Soul Reaper duties as she recovers. He meets Rukia Kuchiki, a Soul Reaper from the Soul Society whose mission is to deal with hungering lost souls called Hollows. The main character of the series, Ichigo Kurosaki, has the ability to interact with ghosts. They are subdivisions of humanity, but are distinguished by whether they live on Earth or in one of the afterlives, by possession of thematically contrasting supernatural powers, and by the use of aesthetics drawn from the artistic traditions of different real-life regions.
